Composting WHAT IS IT and WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT.

WHAT IS COMPOSTING

  • Allowing food scraps to decompose naturally to create fertile soil.

  • This diverts excess food waste from entering landfills and creating methane emissions.

  • Composting = reducing your carbon footprint.

HOW DO I DO IT?

You just need:

- a compost bin for the kitchen to store your food scraps and either

- A garden compost bin OR

you can even compost inside with a special compost bin.

- Add some leaves, branches and twigs

- Regular mixing/turning

These are the containers I use:

- I love it because, it's not hideous to look at and it's compact and dishwasher safe. We empty it about everyday.

Do you know compost? Would you consider it?
