💛Anti inflammatory Smoothie💛
The active ingredient in turmeric, curcumin is well studied for having antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. Curcumin can help manage inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome, aid in lowering cholesterol, arthritis, anxiety, muscle soreness and exercise induced inflammation. (Basically it’s magic🤣) but it’s important to pair it with black pepper which enhances the bioavailability - making it work it’s magic. You can buy turmeric in the spice section or buy the whole root, like ginger. I bought whole turmeric at Whole Foods. You don’t have to peel it; just rinse it and scrub. Juice, add to soups, stews, or add to smoothies like this.
Add to blender:
1/4 cup fresh turmeric
1 Tbsp fresh ginger
4 Tbsp hemp seeds
2 peaches sliced (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 scoop collagen peptides
2 large handfuls of ice
1.5 cup milk of choice
2 dates
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
2 Tbsp flax seeds
1 frozen banana
Blend!
